Who we are
R.A. (Judge) Alexander Contractor began operating in 1947, after his completion of service as a United States Navy SEABEE. Throughout his service during World War II, which saw him in places such as England, Ireland, and the Philippines, he returned to his hometown of Daviess County, Kentucky, with his wife, Agnes Murphy Alexander.
With his abilities and work ethic, R.A. was selected as an “Up and Coming Contractor” by Construction Digest Magazine in 1953. In 1974, he was listed in “Who’s Who” in Kentucky.
Principles of Our Work
Specializing in various work, including farm, highway, residential, and commercial, he developed a reputation for quality work at a fair price.
With the addition of Jerry (son), Bill (son), and George Ballard (son-in-law), the name was changed in 1968 to R.A. Alexander & Sons Inc.
Throughout the years, R.A. kept his family ties strong. He employed brothers, sons, daughters, cousins, in-laws, and grandchildren. Today, his great-grandchildren work in the company.
Experience
With his passing in 1995, he left a legacy of quality work and fairness to his customers.
Through 4 generations, we continue to operate under his name and likeness.
